An EV charging station supplies electricity to electric vehicles through AC chargers, suited to longer stays such as homes, offices and hotels, or DC fast chargers, suited to short stops and fleets. A charging project covers more than the chargers themselves: it includes the site's electrical capacity, cabling and protection, parking layout, user access and payment, and, increasingly, on-site solar generation and batteries to manage cost and peak demand.
Electric vehicles are a growing part of the Kingdom's transport plans, and the charging network is expanding in cities, along highways and inside private sites. Residential compounds, office buildings, hotels, malls and fleet operators are increasingly expected to provide charging for residents, guests, employees and their own vehicles.
The main constraint is usually electrical, not the charger. Adding several chargers can exceed the capacity of an existing connection, trigger costly upgrades or overload transformers at peak times. Choosing the wrong mix of AC and DC chargers, or ignoring how users will park, pay and wait, leads to stations that are either idle or overloaded. Safety, conformity and municipal requirements also need to be addressed before installation.
Selorin plans and delivers charging projects from the first load study. We assess your electrical capacity and expected usage, recommend the number and type of chargers, design the electrical works and parking layout, and integrate load management so chargers share capacity intelligently. Where it makes sense, we combine charging with solar carports and battery storage to reduce grid demand and running costs, then install, commission and maintain the station.
