Renewable Energy Operation & Maintenance

Field services that keep solar plants, batteries and chargers producing as designed: cleaning, inspections, fast fault response and transparent performance reporting.

Higher, more predictable output over the life of your assets

Selorin field team on site

Overview

Operation and maintenance (O&M) covers the field and technical services that keep renewable energy assets producing safely and efficiently after commissioning. It includes panel cleaning, preventive inspections, testing of electrical equipment, thermal imaging, corrective repairs, spare-parts management, remote monitoring and performance reporting against expected production.

A solar system's output is decided not only by its design but by how it is looked after. In Saudi conditions, dust accumulates quickly, high temperatures stress electrical components, and small faults such as a tripped string, a failed inverter or a damaged connector can go unnoticed for weeks while production quietly falls.

Many owners have no clear view of how their system is performing. Monitoring data is not reviewed, cleaning is irregular, warranty claims are missed and there is no baseline to compare against. The result is lost energy, shorter equipment life and savings that never match the original business case.

Selorin's field teams provide planned and corrective maintenance for rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems, battery storage and EV chargers. We set a cleaning and inspection schedule matched to site conditions, monitor production remotely, respond to faults, manage spare parts and warranty claims, and report performance against the expected yield, so you always know what your assets are delivering.

When you need this service

You may need this service when:

  • Your solar system's production has dropped or you are not sure how it is performing.
  • You need a regular panel cleaning and inspection programme suited to dusty conditions.
  • You own several sites, such as compounds, branches or factories, and want one maintenance partner.
  • Your installer's warranty or maintenance period has ended.
  • You need documented performance reports for management, investors or lenders.
  • Your batteries or EV chargers need preventive maintenance and fault response.

What we deliver

01

Panel cleaning programmes

Cleaning frequency and method matched to dust levels, water availability and panel manufacturer guidance.

02

Preventive inspections

Scheduled mechanical and electrical inspections of modules, structures, cabling, inverters, protection and earthing.

03

Thermal imaging and testing

Thermographic surveys and electrical testing to find hot spots, failing strings and connection faults early.

04

Remote monitoring

Continuous review of production and alarms, with alerts when output falls below expected levels.

05

Corrective maintenance

Fault diagnosis, repairs, spare-parts management and coordination of warranty claims with manufacturers.

06

Performance reporting

Reports comparing actual and expected production, availability, losses and recommended improvements.

Our approach

  1. Baseline the asset

We inspect the system, review its documentation and set expected production as a baseline.

  2. Plan maintenance

We agree a cleaning, inspection and response schedule for each site.

  3. Monitor continuously

We follow production and alarms remotely and act on deviations.

  4. Maintain and repair

Our teams carry out planned work and fix faults, keeping full records.

  5. Report and improve

We report performance and recommend upgrades that increase output.

Regulatory context

  • Manufacturer warranty conditions for modules, inverters and batteries, which typically require documented maintenance.
  • Electrical safety requirements of the Saudi Building Code and safe working practices for live electrical systems.
  • Water-efficiency expectations when planning panel cleaning in a water-scarce environment.
  • National Center for Waste Management (MWAN) requirements for disposal of failed panels, batteries and electronic components.

Requirements vary by activity, location and permit conditions. We confirm the applicable requirements for your project at the start of every engagement.

Frequently asked questions

How often should solar panels be cleaned in Saudi Arabia?

It depends on local dust levels, nearby activities and the season. Some sites need frequent cleaning while others need less. We set the schedule from site conditions and production data rather than a fixed rule.

Can you maintain a system installed by another company?

Yes. We start with a condition assessment and documentation review, then take over maintenance and monitoring under a clear plan.

How do you know if my system is underperforming?

We compare actual production with expected production for the same weather conditions. A gap triggers investigation through monitoring data, inspections and thermal imaging.

Do you also maintain batteries and EV chargers?

Yes. Our O&M services cover battery storage and EV chargers as well as solar systems, so connected assets are maintained by one team.

Do you serve several sites under one contract?

Yes. Multi-site owners such as compounds, retail branches and industrial groups can have all sites under one plan with consolidated reporting.
